| Tabakspijp van mammoetivoor met trechtervormige ketel met brede filtrand, ronde onderzijde zonder hiel en rechte achtkante insteeksteel, steel onderzijde oogje waaraan een leertje, steeleind een verdikte band. Oorspronkelijke montage met roer van mammoetivoor met dezelfde achtkante vorm en dikte, naar het steeleind toelopend. Ketel inwendig met dikke mantel van lood bekleed. |

| Afgebeeld in rubriek "Van heinde en verre ..", Tribale Kunst, XII-1, voorjaar 2023, p 7. Dit exemplaar. Het leertje aan deze pijp is traditiegetrouw hondenhuid. De Siberische of wolharige mammoet leefde in het Pleistoceen, zo'n 600.000 jaar geleden; daarmee is deze pijp van het oudst denkbare materiaal gemaakt. |
