| Fons Gubbels noemt deze pijp een boerenpijp of landbouwerspijp omdat zij vooral verkocht werden in de provincies Groningen, Friesland en in de Achterhoek aan boeren die de mondstukken tijdens het werk opkauwden totdat de pijpen volledig versleten waren. |
