| Deze pijp moet gemaakt zijn in de periode 1859-1860 toe W. na afloop van de Krim-oorlog werd uitgezonden naar India vanwege de Indian Rebellion of 1857 waar hij zich onderscheidde in het Ontzet van Luknow, iets dat groot gevierd werd in Britain. Vanwege zijn verdiensten werd hij in 1859 gepromoveerd tot Luitenant-Colonel. In 1861 wordt hij tot Majoor bevorderd. |
