Description:

Tobacco pipe from coquia nut (corozo) with figural bowl, heel marking and short stem without stub. Bowl oval-shaped head of a monster with horns, snakes come from both eye sockets with their heads on the forehead, in the open mouth a row of long pointed teeth, around the facial hair that is combed up. Stem turned on the back of the bowl and with a portrait mask of a kind of Indian head with feather headdress. Bowl inside the head of a clay pipe, closed with a circular lid with stylized leaf motifs and provided with a button in the shape of a beech nut, the lid flips open sideways. In the lid collector label with "BT. WEBSTER JAN. 1897 P.1428" and in white ink collection number Seita.
