Description:
Printing block of brass (wood block missing) for a pipemakers’ mark, so-called copper carving with central mark 46 crowned in standing oval flanked by two seated saters, surmounted by the crowned Gouda coat of arms with bunches of pipes on either side, underneath napkin work in which curved ribbon with " GOUDSE PYPE " and along the lower edge "JAN PRINCE & CO.". Back of the text part eroded by repeatedly changing the inscription, to reinforce the groove is filled with lead. |
