Description:
Tobacco pipe made of clay with horn shape, without heel and slightly bent stem and mouthpiece. Bowl left in relief oval of oak leaves in which the bust of King William III with sash and distinctions, oval surrounded by flags on both sides and two tassels at the bottom, above on a ribbon "JUBELFEEST" (jubel party), representation at the top a text ribbon with "ZM WILLEM III", the letter Z retrograde, underneath"12 MEI 1874" and "FEESTPIJP" (feast pipe). Bowl right embossed coronation ceremony in the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) with central standing king holding in the right hand a saber, the left hand on the bible, representation simplified by not showing the canopy where the oath was taken, underneath text ribbons with " INGEHULDIGD 12 MEI 1849 " (inaugurated). Bowl seams oak leaves. Meerschaum coloured lacquer. |
