Description:
Tobacco pipe made of wood with high funnel shape bowl fluidly continuing in a long heel shape ending in a spatula-shaped end, small and subtle stem insert. At one-third of the pipe a small and subtle stem protrudes out of the bowl, meant for a reed stem (missing). The lower end decorated with one carved double strap and two rows of roughly carved zigzag motifs. |

Comments
| Wordt vanwege de herkomst een vogelkoppijp genoemd naar de vorm van dat deel van Nieuw-Guinea. Het roer werd van de pen van een stekelvarken, soms ook vogelbot of riet gemaakt. Beknopt besproken als aanwinst in Nieuwsbericht Pijpenkabinet, 1-1, december 2004. |
